Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole, trimethoprim)
General information. Bactrim (also sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) is a combined medication. The combination of sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim provides high efficacy against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including those resistant to sulfonamide drugs. Bactrim without prescription is rapidly absorbed when taken orally. The maximum concentration in the blood is active after 1-3 hours and lasts for 7 hours.
